  14. EMERYVILLE, CA—November 27, 1990—Farallon Computing, Inc. today shipped a
  15. special new package of SoundEdit™ that includes an updated configuration of the
  16. award-winning SoundEdit software and the new MacRecorder® Driver.

  18.    SoundEdit is a sound processing application that allows you to record, edit,
  19. and mix voice, music, and sound effects.  Now Macintosh users who already have
  20. a sound input device, such as the Apple digitizer built into the Macintosh IIsi
  21. and LC or a MacRecorder Voice digitizer can buy the application that
  22. popularized sound on the Macintosh.

  24.    With the introduction of the Macintosh IIsi and LC more applications are
  25. supporting sound and Farallon is now shipping a driver to make sure that
  26. everyone can take advantage of these new features.  With the new MacRecorder
  27. Driver any MacRecorder digitizer works with the Apple Sound Input Manager in
  28. System 6.0.7.  Any MacRecorder can record asynch-ronously with the same
  29. applications that support the built-in microphones in the Macintosh LC and IIsi
  30. with the new MacRecorder Driver.

  32. SoundEdit, MacRecorder Sound System, and MacRecorder Voice Digitizer
  33.    SoundEdit software is designed for owners of the Macintosh IIsi and LC, new
  34. Apple Macintosh models with sound input and output capabilities built-in, as
  35. well as owners of MacRecorder Voice digitizers.  This version of SoundEdit
  36. allows any user to create soundtracks incorporating voice narration, music and
  37. special effects.

  39.    The MacRecorder Sound System is the complete sound editing package for the
  40. Macintosh.  It includes a sound digitizer with a microphone input that allows
  41. connection to external microphones and a line jack that allows input from CD
  42. players or other stereo components.  It also includes the MacRecorder Driver,
  43. SoundEdit, HyperSound™, and HyperSound Toolkit software, and the Farallon™
  44. Sound Driver.  The MacRecorder Sound System is well suited for sound editing,
  45. multimedia presentations, HyperCard use, and music applications.  The
  46. MacRecorder Sound System has been shipping since January 1988 and is considered
  47. a standard for recording sound on the Macintosh.  The new version of SoundEdit
  48. 2.0.3 is currently shipping with the MacRecorder Sound System.

  50.             The MacRecorder Voice digitizer is available for users of the
  51. Macintosh Classic and all Macintosh machines without built-in sound input.  The
  52. Voice digitizer is a more compact and simplified version of the original
  53. Farallon sound digitizer that comes with the MacRecorder Sound System.  The
  54. digitizer contains a microphone and an analog-to-digital converter.  It plugs
  55. into the modem or printer port of a Macintosh and provides a more
  56. cost-effective solution for users whose principal need is to add voice to
  57. general purpose productivity software.  It comes with HyperSound, and includes
  58. both the MacRecorder Driver for System 6.0.7 and the Farallon Sound Driver for
  59. System 6.0.5 or earlier.  With the MacRecorder Driver, Macintosh purchasers can
  60. use their MacRecorder with the HyperCard 2.0 Audio Palette which Apple includes
  61. with all new Macintosh machines.
